An error has occurred and I am no longer able to access my forums.

forum.starlighttree/

I now receive this error

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

In the past I have always been able to sign in on the forums page itself and go in and modify and "clean up" form the forums.

One of the problem is we had our website, hxxp:starligthtree.com [nonactive], built by a second party person and she has "disappeared". So we don't know what account our forum is attached to so we don't know how to go and try to fix the problem?

If anyone can help we would be very extremely grateful!

Thank you

Where can I check this? I cannot actually access the forums in anyway?

Do you have ftp access to your host account?

When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

So you don't have FTP access, or hosting "control panel" access to your site? Oh dear.  If the hosting account is in your name (paid for directly by you), you can hope that appeals to the hosting service will result in their changing over passwords, etc. to you. If your erstwhile builder owns it, in the lights of the hosting service, you're up the creek without a paddle. Your only hope then is to report the loss of connection to the hosting service and hope that it's a database problem they can fix, regardless of whether you own the account.

If you ever get back together with the "builder", you should get some sort of access (IDs and passwords) in case she disappears again. You can promise that you won't touch the system unless she vanishes. There's always the chance that she will change passwords to lock you out, if you're having a dispute.
