If I do a "site:mysite.com" search on Google, I see that Google has indexed a bunch of nonsense pages (Login, SMF User Help, and Print Page versions of pages) before the real content--and there is a lot!

Now, I know from experience that SMF 1.x is really bad when it comes to SEO (relative to vBulletin and WordPress), but there has to be a way to get Google to stop indexing these nonsense pages before the meat of my forum.

Does anyone know how I can fix this situation? If there are entries in the robots.txt that will help, what would they be?

Thanks.

Suki

it would be like a regular robots.txt file.

I have this and seems to work just fine:

Disallow: /index.php?action=activate
Disallow: /index.php?action=admin
Disallow: /index.php?action=arcade
Disallow: /index.php?action=calendar
Disallow: /index.php?action=collapse
Disallow: /index.php?action=deletemsg
Disallow: /index.php?action=editpoll
Disallow: /index.php?action=help
Disallow: /index.php?action=helpadmin
Disallow: /index.php?action=lock
Disallow: /index.php?action=login
Disallow: /index.php?action=logout
