The development team is considering adding WIKI style BBC parsing in future versions.
There is a mod from [SiNaN] related to this:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1602

The following format is used in this mod:

category => [ [c|category:{value]]
board => [ [b|board:{value}]]
topic => [ [t|topic:{value}]]
user => [ [u|user:{value}]]

{value} can be id or name.

Any thoughts about this please?

Regards.

Robert.

I like the idea, but when you have a user with "1" as username, but it has as "2" as id, then it's a little bit difficult to see what the user means ;)

Doesn't sound very revolutionary...

Should most definitely be base SMF imo.

Digging an old topic (Digging through the whole Next SMF Discussion board)

But it's an awesome idea. It's one of my most installed mods.
"The Book of Arantor, 17:3-5
  And I said unto him, thy database query shalt always be sent by the messenger of $smcFunc
  And $smcFunc shall protect you against injections and evil
  And so it came to pass that mysql_query was declared deprecated and even though he says he is not
  dead yet, the time was soon to come to pass when mysql_query shall be gone and no more

I thought it was nice as a team member to have this, but in general, I rarely point to posts, boards or members.

A "read also" tagging system would be much cooler, although that doesn't handle users.

Do you mean a tag that hides part of the text of a post?
Would be more or less like a spoiler tag...that would be nice to have... :P

Take a peek at what I'm doing! ;D
