Is there a way to have a Smiley clickable automatically when used?

On my site as well as many others the post starts off on one topic and the gets turned 180* going the other way...

I made a topic called "Wild Tangent" because it just seems that's what happens...
So I also made a smiley that says Wild Tangent and I want it to steer people to the Wild Tangent thread...
Just thought it was fun and original?

I want that Smiley to always point to a link, automatically. Don't want to add bbc code in a post to make it happen.
