Gunpoint

cant i just edit the one on my website already. or is it not allowed

KensonPlays

Yes you can. Do you know how? As long as you don't REMOVE any of the 'stock' copyrights and copyrights for any mods.

Gunpoint

okay got it about removing copyright of mod. but dont know which is stock copyright for smf and how to edit it

KensonPlays

"stock" is what is shown when you have a brand-new install with no modifications at all. Fresh Install.
Copyright Information
Am I allowed to remove or modify the copyright?

EDIT:
I'm off to bed, it's late here. Somebody else can take over for me.

You need to edit it via HTML, go to your footer or index.php in the template and press F3 to search for it.

      <ul class="reset">

         ', !empty($modSettings['xmlnews_enable']) && (!empty($modSettings['allow_guestAccess']) || $context['user']['is_logged']) ? '<li><a id="button_rss" href="' . $scripturl . '?action=.xml;type=rss" class="new_win"><span>' . $txt['rss'] . '</span></a></li>' : '', '
         <li class="last"><a id="button_wap2" href="', $scripturl , '?wap2" class="new_win"><span>', $txt['wap2'], '</span></a></li>
      </ul>

You can inspect this code to see how i edit the footer and what it became (http://testsmf.mmobrowser.com) see here.

CapadY

Because you are running SMF 2.01 you are allowed to remove all SMF copyright information in the footer.

The only problem you can have is support helpers don't want to help you any longer but removing it is legal. So, when you don't need support, you can just remove.
Please, don't PM me for support unless invited.
If you don't understand this, you will be blacklisted.

KensonPlays

Sorry to intrude, capady, even though you can I never will :P because support is nice to have... :P

Gunpoint

okay, please i dont understand you. the website is www.naijaempireforum.com, help me check it and tell me what to edit

Please do NOT bump until 24 hours have past.
Try this mod: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=custom+copyright

Please I tried that mod but when I click on facebook, it redirects to an "error 500" page or sometimes just goes blank.
