New Design of Classic YaBB SE Theme on Top 10 Downloaded Themes

Hello,

I just saw the Top 10 Downloaded Themes and on the 7th place New Design of Classic YaBB SE Theme ... but... Compatibel met:1.0.7 
This theme has been downloaded 26469 x, so many people like it just like I do. The Classic YaBB is my favo and this one has a header with the user info on the right in it. 

Is it maybe possible that this theme can be updated so that it's also compatibel with smf 2.0.1 ?

It was submitted on April 16, 2006, well, updating one can be daunting rather making similar will be easier. You should look theme site, there are many themes, you will sure like one.

She is aware of that i did redirect her to that theme a while ago, but she likes this new design type of theme maybe is someone willing to upgrade the theme for SMF 2.x so he/she makes some community people happy again !!

I remember that one. It is a very nice old theme. Wouldn't be that hard to for someone do a 2.0 version, but it would be polite to get the original author's permission if at all possible.

If it wouldn't be that hard... but when to much work or impossible I understand of course that this theme can't be compatible with smf 2.0.1.

Why? Are you saying it'd be a nightmare to do a 2.0 version? I disagree. I think it would be fairly easy.

I did Yabb SE Next Gen and it took quite a while to make the Curve work with borders. And yeah, it was a nightmare.

O... I can't make themes and didn't know that it takes quite a while to make it work with borders, so sorry for my question and I'll click on 'topic solved'.

It wouldn't be to hard to convert Yabb SE Next Gen to the theme requested. But making it from scratch would be overkill.

Well personally I'd tackle that by simply recoding the templates to make them do what I want. I'm like that. For example, the board index would be easy if you went back to using a separate table for each category. The code changes required for that are minimal, and although there would theoretically be a performance penalty I doubt anyone would notice in practice.
