Custom Settings for my mod.

Hey guys, I hope someone can take the time to help me solve this problem I have. I will try and explain it as best as I can...

Basically I've got a modification called Live Emoticon Library, it is dropped into post pages of SMF in a iframe (yes iframes are considered bad but this is the best method all round), basically the iframed content does not connect up to the forums (SSI) because it really doesn't need to at the moment. But this could be changed depending on your suggestions.

Right so the problem is, I want to provide some settings in SMF admin panel for the user to change, however I do not wish to store these settings into the SMF DB and would prefer to create a settings file that LEL can open and read. Does anyone know how to add a custom settings page into SMF's admin panel, or could someone explain how to do it "right" and then access the settings using the include("ssi.php") approach in the iframe.
