Insert Adsense on the Core-theme?

I run the Core-theme on my SMF 2.0.1.
I would like to insert adsense-ads to the right of the first post in all topics. Does anyone know how to do this?

I saw there was a couple of plugins for this but it's always problems when I'm trying to install them since my board isn't English.

Also, is there any kind of PHP-code that can let me know if the visitor is logged in or just a guest?

Pellets, have you looked at the Ad Management mods? or using a portal to do this?
