[4923]Problem with Forum Maintenance - Topics

I know I have reported this before... but I can't find the bug report or a mantis ticket....

I reported it on 2.0RC5, and 2.0 -- and now 2.0.1

Go into Admin > Maintenance > Forum Maintenance > Topics
select remove topics, 30 days or older
select Moved topic notices.
select all boards
click remove now and accept the warning

the system chokes...

An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again.


I can replicate this on multiple sites, including this one....

ROFL. Figures that bit would be buggy. It's the only way I ever use the remove topics function in that section of admin.

Do you have any other information that can help?
php version, maybe a phpinfo (in private is fine).

It happens to me on 40k online.... But also happens on this forun, right here.   Eevery time

I suspect that your testing is not taking the size of the forum into account. Both this forum and 40kOnline likely have at least a million time more posts than your test forums....

There are two triggers for that error in security.php .... could you do a little debug and see which one is failing .... I have not been able to reproduce this, but since you can your now in the hot seat (even if it is pink)

Pink is an excuse to not to your team work, but not to skip debugging!
Tested on win and php 5.3.8 (xampp 1.7.7) but no luck...

Anyway this shouldn't be a problem of number since checkSession is done before any processing.

If someone else can do it, then it's an account issue (not a pC issue, since it happens on every browser, every computer for me)

Strange.

Can't produce the error on my notebook, but I damn sure that the bug appeared at my workplace PC. I'll try to re-produce the issue after coming back to home in the evening.

Code (find) Select Expand

if ('oThemeOptions' in this.opt && this.opt.oThemeOptions.bUseThemeSettings)

Code (replace with) Select Expand

if (!bInit && 'oThemeOptions' in this.opt && this.opt.oThemeOptions.bUseThemeSettings)

in other words if you have the header collapsed (or any other element that uses smc_Toggle) you will not be able to finish that task.

really?   How bizarre (and annoying) since I always have the header and many other things collapsed.

FWIW and for the benefit of those searching this,  I only managed to get it to work on the Curve theme, other wise I still got the error message.

Did you clear the browser cache before trying again?
Do you have mods installed?

Likewise, I couldn't even find this on the SMF 1.x version of script.js.

Probably because SMF 1.1 doesn't have this code and is not affected bis this specific bug and if you see something similar it means it comes from elsewhere?

that's amazing. and just FYI, I was able to remove topics without the "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again." message by simply expanding the header and re-running the remove topics maintenance. No need to even modify the scripts.js file.

Any updates on this? This is still an issue in 2.0.8.
I have 2 sites where I removed the collapse button so the fix doesn't work.
On the 3th site I can prune just by expanding the header.

Having this issue as well on 2.0.15.

I do have mods installed obviously but turning each one off to see which it is, isn't filling my heart with joy on a live site.
