I'm having a problem with my forum logo, can anybody pls help me...

here's the address

www dot jayperillo dot com/forum

I'm using the Dark Don theme.

On my laptop the logo is ok but when i view the forum on iPad or phone logo is now too long...what should i do?

If ever what is the right image size for my logo.png?

I'm using SMF 2.0.1 btw

Sir Osis of Liver

It's way offscreen in 1024x768 res.  Try using a % width in the header div.

When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

Ricky.

Your Logo is too big, its 1218px wide so even if you use dimension in %, it won't help. Reduce your logo size.
Also, its kind of bad to remove theme copyright , you are receiving quality work for free then atleast you should not remove credits.

Agreed. When one attempts to steal credit for someone else' work, they are damn lucky to receive any support at all.  Respect others and you shall receive respect.
Otherwise, good luck.  ???
No, I will not offer free downloads to Premium DzinerStuido themes. Please stop asking.

Oh i'm sorry Sirs, since we're new to this we just got excited and all so we just tried doing stuff with the theme, but i'll put back the credits right away :-)

I got the credits back Sir, really sorry for that :-)

what would be the right resolution for my logo to fill the header up?

@ARG:
do you have any suggestions sir? i'm sorry cause i'm really new to this :-)

mashby

Resize this image to shrink it.

Maybe 800 wide? Not sure exactly how to size it on a phone though.
Always be a little kinder than necessary.

@mashby i already resized the image 800width

now the question is how will it fill the whole header? plus is it possible to like view it the same way on every device? like alignment and size?

Ricky.

You can't fill whole header, theme can resize itself but your logo can't and that is the idea behind the theme to center the logo so that it looks good even if theme is shrinked. Remember the original logo which comes with theme, its small and in center and looks great !

Oh i see so there's no way to have a logo in that fills up the header (and is consistent in alignment and size on dieff devices) using the dark-don theme sir? :(

Ricky.

Its not about Dark Don theme, it is the way things works, or you can make some arrangements that if its being viewed on small device it shows smaller version or try 750px , it should do fine as thats the min width of the theme, after that it won't shrink itself further.

What is the max height and width of the dark-don's header (logo)sir? BTW i can't seem to put it in the middle anymore :-(

Maybe I don't understand the question, but I have a header logo that fills the header whether main body is set to full screen or 90%.  It shrinks/expands to fit the header.

When in Emor, do as the Snamors.

How do you do that sir? i think that's what i want..is it possible when using the dark-don theme?

Doesn't really matter which theme you're using, as long as the css style for the header div doesn't conflict with the image layout.  Something like this -

function template_body_above()
{
global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $txt, $modSettings;

echo '
<div id="header">
<a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/"><img src="../Themes/themename/images/custom/logo.png" width="100%"></a>
</div>

You'll need a high res image so it doesn't wash out at higher resolutions and on large displays.

I'm sorry sir but i still don't understand how to use it...would you mind sharing your header logo's resolution?

Well, I gotta work around for your case.

In your index.css add following line at the end of file:
#upper_header img {
    border: 0 none;
height:100%;
width:100%
}

After this image should resize itself if forum is smaller than logo size.

Also, find :

.forumtitle {
    margin: 0 auto;
    min-height: 60px;
    width: 470px;

replace with:
.forumtitle {
    margin: 0 auto;
    min-height: 60px;

Now logo may not center, but should resize itself, you may now try using a logo of big size , like 1080px or more so that it stretches itself on big screen and and will shrink smaller screen.. also , on very big screen , it will not get bigger than its actual size.

EDIT: Looks like Krash already gave similar work around while I was compiling it :P ..

j3yps

@Ricky It WORKED! Thank you so much sir! :-)

can you suggest a width and height for a hi-res logo?

Again thank you so much sir! :-)

Ricky.

In SMF 2300px has been taken standard but I think you can take 1600px as fine one.
Just to let you know, theme won't expand beyound 2300px.

is there a way to disable the logo background?
I mean the one pointed by the red arrows :-)

Ricky.

You mean you want to remove header background then :
Find:
#upper_header {
    background: url("../images/theme/main_block.png") no-repeat scroll 0 -945px #1C1413;
    margin-bottom: 4px;
    padding-left: 20px;
}

Replace with :
#upper_header {
    margin-bottom: 4px;
    padding-left: 20px;
}

Also,

Find :
#upper_header div.frame {
    background: url("../images/theme/main_block.png") no-repeat scroll 100% -945px #1C1413;
    height: 116px;
    text-align: center;
}

Replace with :
#upper_header div.frame {
    height: 116px;
    text-align: center;
}

j3yps

@Ricky

That worked sir! Thank you so much! :-)
