how long will the 1.x.x version last?

I have a large forum with a ton of custom hacks using 1.1.15, if version 1 will eventually die off then I should make the jump to 2.0.1 sooner rather than later.

However, if version 1 will always be around and updated, then staying with it would be better for me due to the custom hacks done over the many years.  Thanks for any input.

Version 1.1.x will eventually be sunsetted. We have no specific timeline on when that will happen, but it will probably be some time after the release of 2.1.

Until that time, there will continue to be security updates for it.
