I am trying to use the mass email sending option and i can send a notification email to admins which are 2 of them. But when i try to send an email to all the regular members it just goes back to admin panel homepage and it doesnt send the emails.

Ricky.

How many members does your forum have ?
If there are too fews, it will just send and return .

Are you sure they are not being sent ?

PLAYBOY

I am sure they are not being sent. i have close to 1000 members.

When i try to send them to Admins it send and it goes through that sending process of showing % and stuff. But when i try the same thing for regular members it just goes straight to admin homepage and doesnt send them.

I know this might not help cause I don't know squat about any thing. But! I go to and click on News and News Letter, I then click on Newsletter. On that page I click on the groups I want the letter to go too. Then I click on next. It lets me send what I want to who I want.

:D ;D

Don't have one, Don't want one, Not gona get one

Question ..... What about just 1 regular member ? not the whole group, just one person in that group.

I entered only one email adress (my email) to send the message and it did then it redirected me to Admin homepage.

wakewatcher

Did you get this figured out?  I have the same behavior.  I was able to send to a single email address but when trying to send to regular members it just goes to the admin page.  I'm running 2.02.

Mine is still going on also. No solution yet. I can send everybody (all the membergroups) but no email goes when i try to send to regular members only.

Ricky.

See, if mail queue is enabled then SMF stores mail in db and then send it through mail queue. Try to enable mail queue and set  number of email sent per load and per minute to some small number .. like 5 per load and 40 per minute. Send send mail and check mail queue.

PLAYBOY

I have set up my mail queue to send 2 mails every minute so 120 per hour and the problem still continues. The weird thing is as i have said before, i can send emails (pms) to everybody at once but i cant send emails to only regular members at once.

Ricky.

Do you see mails in mail queue when you sends out a newsletter ?

PLAYBOY

Not when i send emails to regular members only. They dont get listed. The page goes straight to admin homepage. It doesnt even show the process in the process bar and then redirects.

Illori

he means to check admin -> mail and see if anything is listed there for the queue

PLAYBOY

Not right now. When its listed it send the emails. But it just doesnt list them when i try to send a newsletter to regular members only.

JimM

Can you attach a screenshot of your page where you are selecting your membergroup to send the email too?  Also when you say regular members, do you have a membergroup called regular members or are you referring to the Regular Members group that appears when you are managing permissions?

Sorry, i had to censor few lines. I dont see anything wrong with this page though. I think its the processor.

JimM

No problem on censoring those items.  So Regular members are not included in any of the other membergroups?  The reason I ask is because in my test installation, where there have been no modifications to the membergroups, Regular members does not show up.  This issue may be caused by the way your membergroups are set-up.

PLAYBOY

Well there are members who are regular members and they also belong to other groups.
Is there anything i should try or test?
Do you want any more info?
