Moving Categories and Boards to a new site

I like to move only parts of a forum Categories and Boards to a new forum on a new site.
How? Only move some information from the database to the new database?

Instead of moving some part of the community my advise would be to move the whole data(i.e boards posts etc) and remove the non-concerning data on new community itself.

I moved smf_boards and smf_board_permissions and removed non-concerning data.
