Hello!

I need the forum width (in pixels) of a Simple Machines forum with just the basic skin, default skin for Simple Machines 2.0.2. I need this so I know how big I should limit picture sizes to.

Thank you!

There isn't a fixed width. It is controlled in the admin control panel.  You have the ability to set it in a fixed pixel width or by percentage.

OK, thanks for the quick reply. However, I would like to ask what is 100% of the width, then in pixels? This is the default 'Curve' skin, by the way.

It is 100% of whatever the individuals screen resolution is. That will always vary from one user to the next. That is why fluid screen width works better than a fixed pixel width in my personal opinion.

Fluid widths are great for sure and it sounds like you want to figure out the maximum width of post images on your site. You'll likely find that just as fluid. Even screen resolution isn't reliable as a user can set the window size to whatever they want. It used to be 800 by 600, but I think you'll find 1024 pixels wide as the minimum standard width for most users. And some of that real estate will be dedicated to buffer on the left and right and the user area. You could just make an educated guess and set the maximum width to be 750px (suit to taste). :)
Always be a little kinder than necessary.
