Check the settings with Repair Settings, there may be a problem with the username, passwords, paths etc.

What is repair_settings.php?

If this allows you to access the forum, use the Forum Maintenance > Find and Repair Errors.

If that's no good, remove your search index and create another.

Best I can come up with having never experienced this error.

Not working!
My host informs me it may be a database hack message. This is exactly how i read it too!
Possibly beyond the repair stage, maybe a fresh install is the ONLY option when this message is received.

You could try creating a new database and linking the forum to that instead. You can manually download the settings file via FTP and making the changes there. Then maybe importing older posts from a backup prior to the problem occurring. Or even just restoring a database backup may be the answer.

Try running the below queries in phpmyadmin for the relevant database using the 'SQL' tab, if its a badly corrupted key file there are other ways to fix the issue, let us know how you get on.

The errors you posted don't necessarily suggest a hack.

The error below can be caused by many different things for example an issue with a disk or a server crash while a write was being performed on the table.

Yes, My phpformcreator was cleaned out with new form created pointing to a spammers address, my image galery was cleared and advertisements appeared everywhere.

Sounds like a total wipe of the site and reinstall from New using a backup of the database is in order.

I haven't gone through the complete topic but from my experience the "Incorrect key file for table" message pops up when you are out of disk space.

wish it was that simple.
I have a total of 25Gb and according to my cpanel i have used 272Mb and 84Mb in Transfer!

To make matters worse my sites last backup was AFTER the hack!

Umm if thats the case you might try to grab the large upgrade pack and try to re-upgrade your forum once again. Worth a try .

Evening all!

I've just updated my MySQL from 4.1 to MySQL 5.1 via cpanel.... something gone badly wrong.

The forum has crashed with "Incorrect key file for table 'mbmf_members'; try to repair it"


( I have a full back - 67Mb uncompressed   -   (forum ver 1.1.9)


Any help / guidance would be gratefully appreciated.
