Hey all I created a logo, and it is set to a size because  that's the parameters I have been given. But when people look close to it looks really blurred and jaggered on the edges is there a way to fix this ? I was told save as BMP then import to Illustrator and then use live trace, but this image is too detailed to get everything.

Welcome to the forum, man!

Can you post the original image and what the dimensions need to be?

I'll have a go at resizing it, for you.

The main problem is going to be the text going up the side, though. As the image gets smaller, that text is going to get worse and you won't be able to read it, really.

Might be best to remove the text, resize the image, then put the text back.

To get rid of the jagged edges, you'll need to adjust the anti-aliasing settings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spatial_anti-aliasing

Wow quick reply :D here it is.

how would you go about re sizing in Photoshop ? is it the image adjustment ?

Never used Photoshop, to be honest.

There are various freebies that'll do the job. Irfanview, xnview, etc. There are even some programs which have the sole function of resizing pix, believe it or not.

In fact, if you want to have a go, yourself, there's even an online site that does a pretty decent job.

(By the way, you never said what size they need to be) ;)

Hey thanx, so how do I improve the anti aliasing ?

kat

On that site?

No idea, I'm afraid. :(

Have a look at this, though.

http://www.shrinkpictures.com

It allows you to select "Good quality" or "Small filesize".

BMP files are much better quality than jpg. Sadly, they're also HUGE in size. So, the web decided upon jpg.

Just remembered another good tool, or this!

There's a portable version around, somewhere.
