Downloads Mod

Can anyone direct me to a mod for a downloads section similar to the one here? I will like the one this board uses but I am sure that is strictly made for SMF site for exclusive use.

The one here is strictly made for SMF.

I figured the one in use here was exclusive for this site. From what I see on the screen shots on the mod page it looks like it would work perfectly. Do you have a demo site running this mod and also does it follow the Curve theme for 2.0.2?

Yes works for Curve as well SMF 2.0.x and SMF 1.1.x I have an active demo for the pro version at

Main difference between pro and lite is if you want to earn money from downloads by selling downloads credits and some other changes.

Ok got it installed, just two quick questions. How do you set up categories and is it possible to only make downloads available to members only?

Categories are setup under the Main Downloads tab there is an add category link on that page.

For #2. You can setup permissions on a global membergroup level for downloads under Admin -> Permissions then modify the group and look for Downloads System

This is great! This is exactly what I am looking for it will work out great. Just a wondering is it possible that when it creates a new topic in the selected category. Can it make the first post add the description from the downloads section with the link at the bottom?

I relive the lite edition has that feature. When you edit a category there should be topic posting options that includes creating a topic when a new download is uploaded.

Yes it does, only when it creates the topic the first topic is just a link to the downloads section. If possible I would like the first post to clone the downloads description and then have a link at the bottom to the downloads section. Does that make sense?

So if people are browsing the forum and don't know about the downloads section then see the post they can read about it and then be taken to the download. So the description is in two places, the first post of the topic and on the actual download.

Way out my experience level. I am novice at best when it comes to php. I am better when it come to html and css. Oh well,  I guess I will have to live with it that way. If you release a new update I would like to make that request to have the download details also added to the first post for the topic with the url.
