Hi guys.  I just registered on here because my forum appears to be "broken".  Neither myself nor my members are able to access the site.  There isn't any kind of error message either, I'm just greeted to a pure white screen.  Here is the link to the site (I'm not allowed to post external links):  www[dot]vhlsim[dot]net/smf

Apparently this problem occurred a couple days ago as well, but it went back to normal after a few hours, but I wasn't around to notice.  If it "fixes itself" before anyone sees this, I apologize, but I am baffled as to why this is happening.  The parent domain to www[dot]vhlsim[dot]net works fine, as does everything hosted off it, so the problem must be with the SMF.

Additional info:  I am not the one who installed SMF or anything.  The guy who originally set up the board went AWOL, but we haven't had any troubles without him until now.

Please help ASAP please!  Thanks in advance!

Ricky.

Trying to open your smf give blank page only.
Since you are not doing anything then may be something changed in your server which is affecting SMF or may be some file missing, or can be permission problem too. Here its kind of hard to tell as there is very little info available from you, do you see SMF files intact in FTP ?

JardyB10

I know it only gives a blank page, that's the problem. :(

As I said before, it apparently did this a couple days ago, but returned to normal after a couple hours, so this leads me to believe there's nothing wrong with permissions or the SMF files on Filezilla (as far as I can really tell, anyway).  I'll look into if there was any changes to the server, but again, with this problem kind of happening before kind of makes me think that's not it.

And I'm sorry for the lack of info, I'm far from the most technical admin.  I simply tried to go to the site this evening and was greeted with nothing, and my MSN was blowing up with identical complaints.  I have no idea what could have happened, and I don't know what to do. :(

Illori

anything in your server error log?

Take a look at my sig > FAQs > White Screen of Death.

In our Errors.php file, that was the last one outputted.

Note: I am the other admin of this site.

please open a separate thread for your issue, this thread belongs to someone else

I'm not totally sure where to find this :S.  If it's in the cpanel, that is a problem because our cpanel has been 404'd for some time now.

Illori

then contact your host about getting that fixed, you cant do proper backup's without that anyway.

For what it's worth, when I try to get to the site, the URL gets changed.

http://www.vhlsim.net/smf/index.php?wwwRedirect

which is kinda weird.

Illori

that is normal for urls that have issues with the wwwredirect

kat

Illori

nope, do a search here about it. you should find a thread i posted in about it.

To rxplain, it's when you have the site accessible through both example.com and www.example.com, both open the forum, and all the settings point to www.example.com but you request example.com. SMF has to handle the redirect but to make sure it doesn't get confused and redirect infinitely, the redirection forces that wwwRedirect into the URL to let SMF know it's gone through rhe redirect and not to redirect again.

Also, looking through Webmin, there appears to be an issue. Perhaps you can tell us why?

those are all server related issues, nothing related to smf nor by the looks of it your php/webserver install either.

First of all, you have squid running on your server as caching proxy server (I suppose) and there are very few maintain such kind of setup when there are server like nginx available.
Second, the first errors you showed are not that much serious, but second one regarding iptables can be issue but should affect all sites on server , not just part of site.

Better ask your host to fix for your may be your tech admin (if you have one)
