Facebook & Twitter Icon on Profile

Does anyone know of a working mod that will add the Facebook and Twitter icon under your Avatar on posts. I tried this mod

But it is not available for 2.0.2 and it also fails when I try to run the install script. It shows a error.

I've submitted a MOD for this, just waiting and hoping for approval.  It allows members to add facebook, twitter, myspace, youtube and deviantart icons to profiles.  Which is compatible with both default and Ultimate Profiles.

Preview, from my 2.0.2 forum which the MOd is installed on.

What does that offer that a custom profile field can't do, out of interest?

Makes it look more integrated with other contact info.  Compared to how they're added from custom profile edits ( which also has to have specific profile edits so theyre displayed in the correct area, and labeled aligned as so) .....



In the Modification, The image and user's username link will display exactly  how msn, yahoo, aim profiles are listed.  Compatible with default & Ultimate Profiles to display on, and displays on the display page under Instant Messenger Icons and the Who's online list.   No confusing edits for smf admins to have to modify custom profile fields, then edits how their arranged on profiles, and display template.  This MOD takes care of all of that.

I suppose I am getting a bit confused, since on my own stuff I actually ripped out all the original stuff like AIM and made them *all* custom profile fields for consistency...

I think yall are talking more about their actual profile but I am talking about on the topics page like this one where it has the icon under the Avatar. Have a icon is much simpler and spacing saving then have FaceBook: http://www. yadayada.com?profiledsjhkljsdhfls etc. showing on the topics page and taking up a lot of space when you can just have a simple Icon that links to it that they can set in their profile. See the mod in my original post for a example.

I'm not in the slightest confused. I have mine set up just like that, by using the custom profile fields and setting it to display as an icon.

Post pages/topic pages were thinking the same thing just calling it different. That is exactly what I am needing. How long does it take mods to get approved? I would rather wait for the mod for simplicity purposes.

there is no gurantee that the mod will be approved just because it has been submitted, and we have no set date that it may be approved by. so the link i gave above will do the same thing and since it uses a default feature will work in the future.

I tried this suggestion and it actually works great and does what I need it to do. Only couple of questions. I am using the Browser and OS detection mod which puts this between the custom profile fields and the normal icons I.E. website, profile, contact, etc. Which template file contains the code so I can swap them so the custom profile is grouped with the others. The other question I have is on the profile where they enter their info for these fields it puts the fields in alphabetical order be the first letter of the title of the field. Is there a way to reorganize the order or a mod that will do this that will allow to reorder the fields? Last thing, where can I find a YouTube icon that I could use for this?

there is a mod on the mod site that will order them and check display.template.php. do a google there are many social icon packs you can pick from.

Thanks for the help, all the suggestions have worked great. Last thing I am looking for is icons for the different social media's. I have FB and Twitter. I found a bunch on google and one that I liked but they all use vector images which I am not familiar with how to use just one image off that.

Anyone have or know where I can download just the icons I am needing?

Well I have run into a problem with this. Will it is easy and works great I have noticed the Js code for the Twitter that you insert in the head is conflicting with my Highslide mod. Any suggestions on a work around for this?

the forum that i helped with setting that up, i just skipped the js and just used it as a normal link to their twitter account. otherwise i have no idea.

I don't think it is related now since when I remove the Js from the head I still have the problem. What's strange is I didn't notice it until I installed the SA Facebook mod. I uninstalled it and it worked once then now it's not again. I am going to have to trace my steps back to all I have done which isn't much. The highslide works on in my Avea gallery just not within post with images.
