Not sure if your still open to feedback, but I would love to see LinkedIn added in. It is one of the large social networking sites and it is the only big one designed towards professionals.

Thanks for the great mod!

(PS. I don't think it would be a bad idea to combine your other mod titled "Additional Instant Messengers" with this one.. Skype and Google Voice are both much more active than ICQ and we have that by default. lol.)

EDIT: hcfwesker, could I PM you about doing a small mod that adds two social networking sites that are related to an online game I play? I have all the details needed just need someone to make the mod.

you're welcome.  And, I heard of LinkedIn mentioned elsewhere before.  I'll look into adding it, possibly.

In the future I may add a "merge" MOD for both, where one can be installed much easier if the other is.  I just preferred them to be separate since users have different tastes and one MOd is for social sites, the other for instant messengers.

Can't guarantee the timing, but I could take a look at what you're asking for.  Sure, PM the details.

What edits do you need to make to get it to work on other themes besides the default theme?

Parse the MOD on the MOD download page.   And look for any edits in files labeled Themes/default/filename.php  , and if those same files appear in your custom theme, then you'll have to make the manual edits for those files in custom themes.

Manual Installation of Mods

Most likely your custom theme is going to have it's own Display.template.php file, that this MOD needs to edit.

You also need to copy the image, or upload them, to your custom themes images folder.

Is there an equivalent to this mod for 1.x?

hcfwesker

I haven't used 1.x version in a long time.  I could possibly check and see how difficult the edits for adding a 1.1.x version would be.  No promises though, but I'll look into it.

Any chance of adding Flikr to the list please? http://www.flickr.com/

It would make it a handy mod for photography sites. ;)

I could look into it.  What does a link to a member profile on their look like?  http://www.flickr.com/photos/MEMBERNAME  <--- soemthing like this?

It's important, because when trying LinkedIn, links to profiles are not all the same url path because of different profile settings some set-up, so in order to add LinkedIn, I'm most likely just going to have to have users copy/paste their entire LinkedIn profile url in the profile modify options.

Thanks for even considering adding this. ;)

Yes here's an example, not my profile, just to show you how it looks,

There's also a sleeker way to view your Flickr pics using Fluidr, so not sure if this also needs adding. Would be nice. ;)

v1.0.5 Release
LinkedIn Integration added
Added 1.1.xx Compatibility

Note on LinkedIn for users.  As noted on the Modify Profile page, users will need to copy & paste their entire LinkedIn profile URL.

Compatible with SMF 1 versions : 1.1.16  ( maybe previous 1.1.xx versions, haven't tested myself).
Only placed I added these to appear on are Display page and Profile pages.  Kinda rushed myself, but I'll add more pages like the SMF2 version in a later update.

To upgrade from v1.0.4 simply upload the v1.0.5 Package and install, no need to uninstall v1.0.4

If I to get around to it, I'm just going to add 1 of the 2.  Most likely just the Flickr site.  The space for Social Media Icons on the display page is already getting a bit crowded.

That's fine by me, yes the Flickr one would be best.  Thanks ;)

i was trying to get google authorship and that is why i installed this mod. Now please help me how can i add "rel="author" for google plus

info: http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1408986

Goad

Duplicate column name 'myspace'
File: /home/xxxxxxxxxx/public_html/xxxx/Packages/temp/2.x/install.php
Line: 84

I was able to bypass this error, but figured I'd let you know. I had this column from a previous mod in a 1.1.x installation of the site and was no longer using it. I just renamed the column to myspace_old. it would have been nice if your install just ignored the duplicate so it carried over the old entries, but its no big deal, only 10 or so people had put their myspace into their profile field. ....but i mean, who uses myspace anymore anyways?  ;D

Kindred

Rfan... This has nothing to do with the authorship tag.
Tat would be a completely different mod.
This mod adds the icons to the profile, just like aim and msn.

Goad... Yeah, I had the same problem with MySpace and skypse columns.... I just drop
D them, but your right... Te mod should not error if the columns xist.
