Is it possible to have multiple pages on a smf board?

I run a gaming guild that plays numerous games, ideally I would like a page to display general guild news, then several to display game specific news before proceeding to the forums.

For example;

                                  Game Specific Page
General Guild Page <                                > forums
                                  Game Specific Page

I have downloaded an installed PortaMx and that does a great job of getting 1 page up and running, but is there anyway to get more pages?

(hope this makes sense, I'm on a bit of a learning curve with smf atm!)

If this is in relation to the Portamx mod please make a post on the mods support topic.

I believe they also have a website.

maxjam

Its not really about Portamx, thats just what I'm using atm.

I just wondered if there is a way (or another mod) of getting multiple pages?

TheListener

The Simple Portal pages can be used in conjunction with the Custom Tab mod ( This is how I do it).

Okay that works great thanks, I now have a new tab and it pointing at a page - which leads me onto a couple of further questions...

1.  The page its pointing at obviously isn't there as I haven't made it yet.  How do I create a page?
2.  Is there anyway to move the tabs around on the menu bar?

With PortaMx you can create many and multiple pages with the Category / Article system ...  ;)

maxjam

Thanks for that, I googled how I should go about doing that and found another of your posts saying;

1.. Go to Admin - PortaMx Admin - Blocks Manager
2.. Create a new block (any type) in the Panel "Pages"
3.. Fill in the content and give the block a pagename
4.. Save and enable the block in the overview now you can call the block with domain.tls/index.php?spage=pagename

I followed the above created and enabled a new block and set the url to;

http://mandalorianlegacy.com/smf/index.php?action=swtor

which is the same url as the rest menu bar urls but with a swtor rather than community for example.

I used Custom Tab mod to create a new tab and pointed it at the afore mentioned url, but then when I click on it it opens the community page.

I then changed the url to;

http://mandalorianlegacy.com/smf/index.php?spages=swtor

as you advise but that just returns me to the home page.

I am doing something wrong or am I missing a step?

Thanks

feline

The link must be yourdomain/index.php?spage=swtor .. not spages

Thanks for that, I have made the change.

I doubled checked both the url in portamx and custom tab and they are both;

http://mandalorianlegacy.com/smf/index.php?spage=swtor

but when I click on the new page tab I get;

'The page you have requested does not exist or you have no access rights.'

and the url of the screen I am now looking at is;

http://mandalorianlegacy.com/smf/index.php?pmxerror=page

I've created a new block and cloned a block I can already see so I assume its not due to lack of access rights.  Do I need to edit any or create any other files (in file manager for example) or should that be it? If so, I've gone wrong somewhere.

feline

You have enabled the blocks? also check the access rights for the blocks ...

maxjam

Yeah blocks are enabled and I have access rights. I moved one to the frontpage just to check I could see it (I could) then moved it back again.

*scratches head*

feline

You have created (moved) the block to the Single Pages section in the Blocks Manager?
The page name is correct ?
