i looked at the mysql patch but i didnt see a link can some one could gimme a link plz???

Could you please clarify the version of SMF your are installing and are you attempting to install any mod's?

Re-upload a new copy of the file and see if the error continues. If it does my guess is that if it is a new install then some database info was missed when you installed your forum.
