[PAID] Shoutbox - saving shouts like regular topics/posts

Hello there,

I'm not aware of any mods that are able to do what I am looking for, so I decided to create this topic.

Many of our users @ diablo3x.dk really like the idea og having a shoutbox as a part of the site as a more fluent way to communicate and arrange ingame meetings etc. However, we, the site owners, really want to stick to the basic SMF/Bulletin Board idea about posts being archived/available for everybody to read independent of whenever they visit the site. With a shoutbox/chat we feel that a lot of conversations would not be accessible to a lot of our users, since a chat doesn't work like the basic topic/post idea. We base this on the fact that chats are often very active, and if you're not present while the chat stream delivers some interesting conversations, you would probably never know of this conversation.

I would like to request a chat/shoutbox feature that archives conversations as regular topics/posts to solve this.
This is what I imagine: Monday April 16. , a new chat session begins that lasts 24 hours until Tuesday. All 'shouts' or posts in the chatbox/shoutbox from Monday are archived in a new topic called MONDAY APRIL 16. For Tuesday; TUESDAY APRIL 17 and so on. Each shout should be applied to these topics as regular posts by the user who 'shouted'/replied in the chat. This way each and one of the shouts/replies in the shoutbox/chat would be safed/archived like a regular topic with regular posts and would be accessible.

We would prefer that each of these day-based topics is not shown in 'Recent Posts'. We think that it would be too spam-like.

Anyway. I don't know if this is already a feature in one of the existing modifications - but as far as I'm aware it isn't.

Would this be possible to do at all?

Not sure if this helps but simple portals shoutbox does have a feature where you can see old shouts.

You would however have to use the whole mod.

We have SimplePortal already. It is essential, though, that the activity is saved as posts the way I described it above. That is why we seek this specific solution.

That is correct, live627. Though, not necesarily SP's shoutbox. Could be stand-alone.

Not sure I understand. As mentioned earlier, we are very open regarding which shoutbox. If you think it would be best/easiest to develop something in combination with the Simple Portal shoutbox, it would be okay. Any suggestions and thoughts you have; please share

We are willing to pay for this, if anyone would name a price and a suggestion on how to do this.
