Spammers and some litte problems

1. Hay friends on my site I installed smf, Version is 1.1.15, Despite trying for update I was unable to update my forum it give this "The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF. " error.

2, The spammers look the doors of my forum they are coming round and round posting porn sites address and etc. I tired blocking their names, ip, deleting posts etc. rest of the story u may know. Can I go to smf 2? is there same problem going on??

3, At this time my website doesn't have any member login area, All mmember came on site and register. I want to create a login member area, Now I want the member should register 1 time, automatically he/she use same login info for forum too. Any suggestion for existing smf data base will also be welcome, plz solve my this problem.

So after 1 hour I update my forum to version 1.1.16, Now please solve my other problems. it is 4 am and I am going to bed.

2. There are mods for Spam Prevention. You could also consider upgrading to 2.0.2 which has verification questions built-in. Spammers stink of course. Have a look at the list, read the support topics for each one.

3. I'm not entirely sure what you're needing here. Do you have a site that's not-SMF that needs registration?

Thanks for ur replay. My main website doesn't have any registration login form. They go straight forum and register on smf forum. I want to setup a registration form where member enter their detailes and login on my site, and on forum they don't require to register one more time. Means my website data base and smf data base will be 1 sql data base not 2.

3. They have a site for which SMF is only a part of it. They want to have a login for the overall site that lets them into the forum (SMF) "for free" once they've logged in to the main site. One solution might be to install one of the "portal" mods, which gives you a "main page" wrapper around the forum and lets you plug in other stuff. That will probably mean rewriting anything already set up for the rest of the site. Supposedly people have used SSI.php functions to log in outside of SMF and connect with other applications -- do a search on those terms and see if there's anything promising.
