Hello all,

From everyone here at Simple Machines Forum and Simple Machines, we want to wish all our members a happy holiday season and we hope you have a fantastic 2013!

Simple Machines Forum has went through a lot this year, good and bad. For example we have gained many new faces into our team and we are always happy to welcome more: we have some promising individuals going through the apprenticeship as we speak and are always looking for more talent! The third quarter came with a nice surprise: we have released a public alpha of SMF 2.1 and it has come a long way. From feedback and general reaction, many people seem thrilled with the next version, which makes us very happy! And last but not least: Winter came with a little surprise in the form of a slight update to the 2.0 tree. :)

However, sadly, it's not all good. We have had to say goodbye to some long standing members of the team who have chosen to take the grey badge due to various reasons. We're sad some people have left and would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all those team members who have left our family and thank them for all they have done for us, it is truly appreciated. We wish them best of luck on their future endeavours and hope they won't become strangers! :)

We must also remind our users that Simple Machines and SMF appreciates the team's message that real life takes precedent over the project, after all we are all volunteers. So, with this in mind, we must remind you that support and approvals may be slower than normal while our team spends some well-deserved time with their families and celebrate the holidays. :)

This leads us to our final message and that is a big Thank You to each and everyone of you. No matter who you are or where you come from, we make this software for you!. We would like to thank all of you for making SMF what it is today and giving us constant feedback on your experience with the software. Thank you so much, and we hope to see all of you around in 2013 as well!

From everyone at SMF and Simple Machines: have a very happy holiday season and a very fun, but safe!, start of 2013!!!
