Hi,

I have a forum which needs updating (as I know the further we slip behind the worse it gets) from 2.0 to 2.2.
However, I don't want to lose all of the following Mods

Child boards below topics
Referrals System
Avatar Select
bbc code - blink
Caps lock detection on login (not sure this works  :-\ )
Enhanced PM Pop-up
Print button
cbi, 1.0
disable last edit by...for admins
Menu icons
Move post and preview buttons
Moderator and Administrator comment tags
PM Sent notification
smf font post resizer
enhanced dropdown
Copy topics
PM Readed
'Read The Rules' link above post button
Bookmarks
Activity bar
Karma Description mod
Topic Solved
Uncensored boards
invitation message in your face
disable right click

Additionally I have the following themes

Bright Forest
A1 Rainbow
Stealth
Swordy 2.0 RC3
Sweet Dream

How can I update without losing them?

Thanks are given in advance,

Needed information:
- What's your SMF version?, What MODs are installed? What Theme(s) are you using? Have you backed up your database?

--> At least 50% of the questions asked are answered in the Online Manual <--
Mods for ver 1.x will NOT run on ver 2.x

I believe you mean from 2.0 to 2.0.2?

Obviously before the upgrade you would have to make a backup of the forum.

All the mods would have to be uninstalled before you upgrade.

The majority of the mods listed have been updated to work on 2.0.2

Otherwise for the ones which don't have a look at the mod emulate link in my signature.

EDIT The link in your sig is broken.

Thank you Old Fossil.  ;)

I was hoping that I could avoid losing the mods.  O:)

Be Well and Thanks again,

Just a note here: if the site is on 2.0 Final, which is the same thing as 2.0.0, then you should not have to uninstall and reinstall your mods.

In the admin centre there should be a link to the upgrade patch, with the standard warning notice. Clicking that link will enable you to upgrade from 2.0.0 to 2.0.1.

Once that is done, the main admin page will show another link and warning (because you are still one patch behind). Click that, and you'll be able to upgrade from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2.

Note that if you were to go straight from 2.0 Final to 2.0.2, that would require the use of an upgrade pack, and it would result in mods needing to be reinstalled. Doing the process via the two patches avoids having to mess with your mods. :)

SWEETNESS!!!!  ;D

That is what I was searching for.  Will give that a shot once the site is up again (later today I hope).
If that doesn't work, I will make a list of the mods and do the package thing.  :(

Be Well,  ;)

EDIT

Apparently my site difficulties were technical difficulties across the internet.

The link takes me to SMF community support page which, by going to 1at post by "SMF", gives me a link to the SMF Downloads page. Alas, there I can only do the large update download.  :-\
Thanks for you thoughts. Will wait for now to see if either of you two or another can help further.

Ok, you can get the patches here then: http://custom.simplemachines.org/upgrades/

2.0 Final to 2.0.1 > http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/downloads/smf_patch_2.0.1.tar.gz

2.0.1 to 2.0.2 > http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/downloads/smf_patch_2.0.2.tar.gz

Just upload them like standard mod packages, and apply them in sequence. Should do the trick. :)
