I wonder whether it might be a nice idea to have a beginners forum/sandbox where people won't feel too intimidated about asking questions.

By the way, I just saw the sticky about signatures, and it looks like I have to get ten posts before it will let me add an avatar / sig. Oh well... I am full of questions - I hope people won't mind me asking them all seperately!

Can't stand doing those captchas though! i keep getting them wrong. Haha! :)

You only have to do the CAPTCHAs for the first 10 counted posts (Chit Chat posts are not counted)

I know you're full of questions, I already answered your other two ;)

Personally I find there's too many boards already here such that people end up asking things in the wrong place, so another board would probably be too much, but these sorts of questions are fine in either Site Comments or the feedback & discussion board.

The bots are better at the captcha than humans. :)

Yeah, 10 posts and you can include a signature/avatar, too!

As far as a sandbox, we find it just fine to post your questions in the appropriate places. Consider the site a sandbox, just don't mix up the sand too much (post your questions in the right place if you can.) :)

We have two support boards depending on the version of SMF you are using. There are a slew of other boards, too. The one true sandbox is the Test Board.

Have a look around. Don't feel intimidated or afraid to ask questions! And even if you create a topic in the wrong place, we will simply just move it so that others may find and learn from it.
Rock on! :)
