Hi pjn,

with a "sql system" do you mean a MySQL database?
TBH, unless you have a very specific reason I'd suggest you to stay with the MySQL database. From what I've seen (in SMF) SQLite is valid only for very small forums (up 10/20k posts), when the forum becomes bigger and with lots of people the database becomes a huge bottleneck (with page loads over the second).

That said, I managed to convert a couple of SQLite databases into MySQL, but never tried the opposite.
If you are really determined to move to SQLite it should be possible, maybe not straightforward but possible.

If your server is "restrictive of queries", you should find a better host. Switching to SQLite will likely only cause more problems.

What mod's are you trying to install?

Did you convert your database from MySQL to SQLite?
