No image in post

My members have spotted that the online/offline status doesnt seem to be showing properly.    It has a small indented box which has a red cross in it.

I dont know anything about code so i am assuming this is a bug.

Any advice please is helpfull.

I have looked  at the configeration and the "show online Status" for post is checked
So i am flummoxed !

Are you using a custom theme?
In any case, that usually means the image is missing. So first thing go to your theme directory, enter the "images" directory and verify that the files useron.gif and useroff.gif are both there.

no I only changed the color of my theme and its called curve 1 on the server.
The two user on user off gif's are not there

Can i get them from another theme and place them there ?

Take them from the installer.
