How do i move from 1.1.x to version 2.0

Good day all members here, i have been running my forum for four years now on the 1.1.x version but thinking of moving to the 2.0 platform to utilize latest functionalities but i need to confirm if there is really much needs for this and how do i get started.

Do i download the 2.0 version and upload or can i upgrade 1.1.x from admin panel to version 2.0.

Need urgent help please.
