Question regarding shared database and smf2.0

I haven't had any luck searching on google for this answer but, is it possible to install a fresh copy of SMF2.0 on a website and configure it to an existing database. For example website1.com/forum and website2.com/forum have the same smf forum (share same member database, posts, etc) but are on different urls.

Forgive me if this is a noob question, I am not very experienced with message boards, and databases.

that is not possible without some modification.

and it is not possible at all, if the two websites are not on the same logical server.
