Hello!
I just installed SMF 2.0.3.
And when im trying to upload a package, as DreamPortal or any package.
It says im logged out, then nothing happens.
I have tried to reinstall the SMF, but no changes.
What to do?

Colin

Welcome to SMF,

Yikes! I am sorry to hear you are having issues. Why don't you try uploading the package via FTP and then installing it via the package manager rather than using the HTTP upload.

Hello!
I can upload it, but when im trying to install it:
"Warning!
Only registered members are allowed to access this section.
Please login below or register an account with Jabber Zone."

And then you can signup, but still doesnt work..
I have tried other package too.. and it works to put theme in.

EDIT:
Should i try to install 2.0.2?
I dont know how to fix this, please help me!

Colin

Interesting, sounds like the package manager is killing your session. I honestly haven't seen this one before so let's see if anyone else has some ideas.

On your server, install a test forum and try the same thing there. It should only take 20 or 30 minutes to do this. Let us know what happens.

Test forums are really great tools for troubleshooting.

Hello!
Ya, its the problem my host or SMF?

Yup i did.
But im not the hoster, what did you think?
Also i cant belive it doesnt work.

EDIT:
Look, well i can do a Manually install on it "dream-portal"
How to do?

Colin

You don't have to be the host to do what he said? Just create another stock instance of the forum in another directory, another database...

Slow down.

Who installed the original forum, the one you are having issues with now.

One step at a time.

I payed a domain and webhosting at Citynetwork.se [nofollow]
And i did a MYSQL databas, and put the SMF files into Public_html.
Then i wrote the right things and done, i had SMF.

OK good. You installed it.

Now, make a directory called

test/

Install a new forum and also make a new test database for it. Don't worry about most of the settings of the test forum for now. Then try to upload the package there and see what happens.

interesting.  this is the second report like that

Curry - what do you mean you tried to reinstall smf? How do you do this?

You uploaded SMF and installed it... but you have trouble when you try to install the dreamportal package?

I wonder if you are on the same host as the other user?   Who is your host?

I made a new MYSQL, and deleted all old in it.
Then I put all the SMF files into "public_html".
When im trying to download it works, but when im trying to install, doesnt work!
Should I install 2.0.2, where can i get it?

To me, that reads that you uploaded all the files, which is wonderful. But, nowhere do you say that you ran "install.php".

Did you do that?

Apologies, if I've misunderstood, but your English is a bit different to mine. ;)

I ran the install, step for step.
But where can I download 2.0.2, i have to try something?

EDIT: I tried to install 2.0.2.
Same problem, please help me!

Don Draper

Hello, I tried helping Curry with his problem earlier today but the problem still persists. We tried to install it into another directory and database, and it didn't work.

So what happens is that you can upload the packages to the server, but you cannot click on "Install Mod" as that logs you out, but as soon as you click on any other page you're logged in again. Every other function of the forum works but this.

He's using a swedish host: hxxp:citynetwork.se/. [nonactive]

Go in forum and press the Admin Tab > Admin Panel > Package manager > Scroll Down and there's an upload to do it into forum, then the uploaded files will be send to your Hoster's Control Panel ;).
