Changing of theme makes the forum unusable

I dont know what is the problem but before im using 2.0.2 my theme was curve. when im trying to change it to black n black the process hangs up, when i refresh it the forum is unusable so i need to run repair_settings. then i put it back to curve.

last december i installed the 2.0.3 using the curve theme without any errors, it went well. but yesterday i had a problem with my server which my host fixed it. so i tried to change it to black n black theme it has the same problem it hunged up. but the worse is i cant change it anymore to curve after the repair_settings. so now curve and black n black themes has the same error. im using now the default theme

I hope you made backups before all those changes because it sounds like a mess.

You can't use the black n black theme retrospectively because it won't have the theme modifications in it that were added when you installed all those mods. Those changes are only in your curve theme. Either add the changes manually to the new theme or uninstall all your mods and then reinstall again.

is it the same reason with the curve?

another thing will be what mod will be affected when i uninstall it then reinstall it.

example i have the thank o matic as a mod, is the stat be reseted?

When you uninstall a mod you are usually asked if you wish to remove the data for the mod as well, just choose "No" and the data will still be retained in the database for when you install it again.
