My forum is slowing down rapidly with 30+ users online.
I have 700 members and about 350.000 posts in the forum.

The server is a dual PIII 800 Mhz with 1 GB of memory.

What about this MySql config?

There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

Your server seems to be set up correctly, also the load is really low. Do you regularly optimize your tables? Also I would advise you to install some accelerator software, eaccelerator would be a good choice ;)

The load is low because it was in the middle of the night here ;)
I tried to install eAccelerator using URPMI (i'm on Mandrake) but it gives an error (due to unsatisfied php-cli)
I have installed php-cli but maybe not the right version :(
I'm no Linux wiz so i don't wanna take an risk in breaking the config :o

Autop optimisation is set in SMF to be done every 7 days.
That should be enough in my opinion or not ???

For most things, package managers are amazing.  But when it comes to PHP and Apache, they all seem to fall short.  Does this topic help at all?

What is eAccelerator?

That should be fine.  As for your server configuration.... ram and load looks fine, but I'm not sure what the peak times are for you.  Try posting it using the [time](time)[/time] tag.  For example, if I put "2005-09-18 11:37:00 pm" (my current time), it shows September 19, 2005, 02:37:00 AM.  This will show in your timezone, or in my timezone, or in whoever looks at it's timezone.

Then, I (or someone) can take a look to see what might be wrong at that time of day.
