HELP!!! I think I just killed my board...

I started getting the "The default theme's directory is wrong, please correct it by clicking this text" error message, so I clicked the text, and it brought up the page to change the paths to the themes.  The old path looked correct, but in checking around in the general Admin section, there was a set of new paths.  So, I cut and pasted the new path to Themes into the old path location, and now all I get is a white screen with:

"Unable to load Themes/default/index.template.php!"

I still have my database and everything else, but how can I fix my forum without losing everything???

Please help!!!

Sounds like a path problem.
Should be an easy fix with repair_settings.php :)

What is repair_settings.php?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

That got my board visible again, but now I'm having another problem...well, really still having the same problem...

I "fixed" all the different paths with repair_settings.php, but all of the attachments come up with a 404 FILE NOT FOUND error.  It looks as if my webhost changed all the paths to the different directories for some reason.

Any ideas?  I'm going to try to change a few back to the old paths and see if I can get anything working...

Check with repair_settings.php what path it suggests for the attachment folder.
It's usually the same base path as the other ones such as your theme, just pointing to attachments rather than theme directory of course ;)

Thanks CoreISP!

I changed the attachments path to the suggested new one by clicking on the blue hyperlink, but no luck.  Changed back to the old path, again no luck.

But, my members' avatars are working.

Where there should be a photo or any attachment, there is now a hyperlink to view the attachment, but when you click it you get a 404 error.

Scratching my head.......

I just noticed that repair_settings.php is recommending changing my MySQL server name to "localhost"...  If I do that, and it's wrong, will I even be able to get back into my site through repair_settings?

Did you reupload all of your avatars again using something like Filezilla?

No, just used repair_settings.php to update the directory paths.

Yes, but don't change the mySQL host if it is working.

Looks like attachments are blocked for guests?

CoreISP,

Attachments are now viewable by guests.  Sorry, it took me a while to find that checkbox.

Yep, noticed it and they work fine; I don't get a 404 anywhere.
Maybe you should clear your browser cache if you still get errors. :)

OK, for some reason, the photo attachments are now working :D, but other attachments like .doc files still are coming up with a 404 :(.  And I don't know what I did to get the photos working... :-\  Is it possible that the webhost is still moving things around?  This whole thing started about 2 or 3 days ago.  I would think they would have finished moving my data around by now...

That's a question you should ask your host

Yes, it appears that I'll have to do that.

Thank you guys for all of your help tonight!!!!!  At least we got the photos working  ;)

Do .doc files and other such attachments get stored in the same place as .jpg's and other photos?

I just re-ran the Attachment Integrity Check, it found 3 or 4 files that were no longer on the disk, and a few other errors that it fixed.

All seems to be working now  :)

Thank you again guys!!!  ;)
