Folks,

Old guy here,

I am not the brightest bulb in the pack. Have a forum and am very happy with the way it is working except for one issue. When there are a number of replies to a post, each reply continues to move to the right. I am not sure how to change that or where to look. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks

SC

Welcome to the forum Clawsonsa

Can we see a link to the forum please?

mashby

Old guy=experienced.
Old=relative.

All that being typed, can you supply a link to where this is happening? I realize this is your first post here on SMF and you may be limited as to what you can put here until you hit ten posts, but try anyway. We'll figure it out.

And welcome to SMF! Glad you like mostly everything so far. :)

Old?  You don't know the half of it.  My bulb burned out years ago.

OI Krash you been looking at  my forums smileys?

:D

I've accumulated hundreds of smileys and avatars over the years.  No idea where they came from.  But if it's one of yours, thanks!

Um, what was the question?

Guys,

Not trying to be a problem here but it is a members only forum. Not sure what to do at this point.

Replies are listed top to bottom, with most recent last by default.  Don't undertstand what you mean by "each reply continues to move to the right".

Would a picture help?
It might. Having a real link would prove more useful, but I understand your forum is for members only. So let's start with a picture and go from there. :)

clawsonsa we appreciate it being members only

BUT

I am sure you appreciate there are some things we can only do if we see the problem for ourselves.

However you can either:

1. Post a link and someone will remove it when the topic is solved or 2. Send the link in a pm.

Option 1 is the more preferable option.

:)

Or as Mashers ninja'd me with a picture is good too.

:)

The issue is showing that as folks add replies, the replies keep indenting to the right.

Which theme are you using?

Does the problem occur in default Curve?

OK, what does it look like if you use the SMF default Curve theme? You can add ?theme=1 to your page and have a look at that.

There's no way to do that in either Curve or Core.

Maybe it's a browser thing?

True. Would be odd for either Curve or Core to do that. Looks like the replies aren't being cleared.

Do you have any mods installed?

Changing it to the default cleared the problem. Thank you!

OK, cool. Is the Core theme you have installed available for selection for other members? You might want to consider disabling it for other members and even possibly removing it altogether.

Guys,

Thanks so much for the quick and kind customer service. It was most appreciated.

My best,

Hmm, interesting. It almost looks you're running a version of SMF that predates one of the later RCs.

There was a bug in the Core theme that did this, especially if you'd set up a custom field to be displayed by the signature, but I thought that'd been fixed.
