Okay, so he's where I'm at now...

I spoke with a customer service person at godaddy.com [nofollow], and he walked me through how to restore the forum from a previous date (a week ago). Everything appears to be fine now, but I will keep you posted if anything comes up.

glad you were able to get that sorted. Getting hacked can be a pain in the butt....   make sure to back up frequently and keep several of backups, not just 'the most recent"

Now, you just need to find the vector of the original attack and patch it.
