Hi,

We've received the some source code for a Domain Origination Certified Seal. The instructions for posting the code are;

Go to your website's source code and paste the HTML code in the location where you want the seal to display.

  NOTE: You must paste the HTML code within the body tags (<body> and </body>) of your Web page.

We're using SMF 2.0.4 and the Moonlight theme.

Can anyone please help and let me know where exactly I should use the code so that the seal appears in the footer or header of the website.

Many thanks,

Franki

Colin

Hi FrankiGoode,

Welcome to SMF. What you will want to do is modify the index.template.php file found in /Themes/[your theme name]/

If you aren't using a custom theme the directory name is "default".

Hi Colin,

Many thanks for your quick reply.

I've had a look at the file you mentioned but can't locate the <body> tags.

This is the code we have received for the seal...........

<span id="cdSiteSeal1"><script type="text/javascript" src="//tracedseals.starfieldtech.com/siteseal/get?scriptId=cdSiteSeal1&amp;cdSealType=Seal1&amp;sealId=55e4ye7y7mb733111f0fe22de086qfbwbz4ry7mb7355e4ye7bde83206477d44b [nofollow]"></script></span>

Do you know where I should place it?

thanks again,

Franki

Hristo

Try this:

Find:
// Show the load time?

Replace with:

echo '
<span id="cdSiteSeal1"><script type="text/javascript" src="//tracedseals.starfieldtech.com/siteseal/get?scriptId=cdSiteSeal1&amp;cdSealType=Seal1&amp;sealId=55e4ye7y7mb733111f0fe22de086qfbwbz4ry7mb7355e4ye7bde83206477d44b"></script></span>';

// Show the load time?

Probably after that you have to align it too.

Many thanks Hristo, I'll give it a go this evening when our site isn't being used, just in case I stuff it up.  :-[

cheers very much,

Before you make any edits, take a copy of the file and rename it to something like index.template0.php, as a backup.

Then, if you screw the edit, you can delete the file and put index.template0.php back, renaming it back to index.template.php, in the process.

You're members won't even notice, then. ;)

Colin, Hristo and K@,

You'll all legends, thanks heaps. Got it working.

I found the code in the sources/subs file - read it somewhere on this forum that with SMF 2.0.4 all template stuff is now there instead of the index.template

thanks again,
Franki

Wahoo!

Thank you so much for the kind words. Be sure to stop by again if you need any more help or just want to say hello.
