i apologise if i am posting in the wrong section but i did not get any in the modifications and packages section
while installing most of the mods i get the following error
Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

well, with that many mods, it's no wonder you're getting conflicts.

the first thing you should have done is read the FAQ...  specificlaly: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Error_in_mod_installation

However.
why do you have seo sitemap AND SEO lite mod AND Optimus Brave AND Sitemap AND prettyurls?
and then you also have several social media mods which are likely to be doing much the same things...

Seriously.... it looks like you just grabbed any mod that targeted anything you thought you wanted and installed it, regardless of whether you alreayd had a mod to do something close or even something identical....

you are right
I have been quite careless
all the sitemap mods were meant to install a sitemap to improve seo
but none of them has done the job of creating a sitemap.xml file
i have to do it manually each time by using an online sitemap generator
in the mods and packages section, people told me that it will create a sitemap file when a task named "optimus_sitemap" is performed
my forum performs it everyday but to no result

that's been the problem
I thought that if one mod can't do what I want, the other might be able to. So, I uploaded the other one and that is how it kept going on......

If you can, uninstall all the mods, only install the ones you need/want and delete the reset.

as you say sir!!!
when I will overwrite the packages they will be uninstalled
but their files will still remain in the packages folder
am I right?
after that, should I delete all the files in the packages folder and what do you mean by the "large upgrade package"?

The mods will be uninstalled but the database values will be kept so, if you reinstall them after, they should keep the actual values.

First of all, switch to default theme.
Then, you should delete everything EXCEPT Settings.php, Settings_back.php, "attachments" and "avatars" folders
(Of course you will backup all your contents as of now, right? :P )

Then you load the large upgrade
http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?thanks;filename=smf_2-0-5_upgrade.zip
Load all files to your forum root. Delete the included upgrade.* files.

Your forum should now be as fresh as new :)
