User Subdomain, Possible?

Is there any method of making it so a usersname is set as a subdomain which links to their profile ?

From This http://domain.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1 to this http://username.domain.com/

Not without a lot of work - and I mean a LOT of work.

You'd have to start by gutting and rewriting great chunks of the Pretty URLs mod to do it - far out of the league of most users. And that's even assuming you've properly set up a wildcard domain first.
