Hello everyone,

Please be advised that we're scheduling maintenance on the 24th of November 2013 for migrating all our servers to another facility.
At present, we're looking at late Sunday evening into Monday morning (0:00AM (midnight) to 6:00AM (EST/GMT -5)).
We're trying to limit the impact and will hopefully be able to provide a more finite timeframe later today or tomorrow.

The migration should take less than 1 hour, however: total downtime might be longer, please expect 3 up to 4 hours just to be sure.
During this time all systems, including but not limited to downloads and our community, will be unavailable.

Please keep in mind that Simple Machines is not responsible for any withdrawal symptoms! ;)

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,
Server Team

Good luck, with that, my ol' china!

I'll still be asleep, of course. If you need any help, don't hesitate to not call me. ;)

(Like I'd be of any use, anyway) :)

Everything works great this morning. I am on the other side of the world! So I am sure everything went off well :)

LiroyvH

Thanks all!

The maintenance has been successfully completed and we're back in action. :)
It took 2 hours longer than expected, but all is back up now.

Thank you for your patience!

Odd that it only just came back, here, innit?

Ta, for all the work, gents. MUCH appreciated. :)

kat

Just for info... I've been getting a lot of the ol' "Due to high stress.." messages, for the last hour, or so.

Yes, had a fair few of those in meatspace (as opposed to cyberspace) lately. But I learned not to care about people who don't deserve a disproportionate amount of my (limited) sympathies.

Unfortunately I can't apply the same to servers. Except with threatening them with axes and warning them that if they don't do as I ask, they'll get a reprogramming they'll never forget.

It's been weird, today. Quite a few stress errors. Yet, at other times, it's been faster than I can ever remember it.

I bet it's those pesky gremlins, again. ;)

It does seem to have settled down, a bit. Maybe it's shaken some dust out, eh? ;)

Still getting the high stress errors on my end.

Hasn't been right since the scheduled maintenance.  Goes in fits and starts, changes minute to minute.

It stuttered, for a few minutes. But, I haven't had an "Oh, ******! I'm stressed out!" message, for a while.

Been using the ol' WD-40, Liroy? ;)

Ha! I'm curious, now. Since I posted that last work of art, this place has gone super-whizzy!

You must've used a BIG can of that ******, mate. :)

It's a big improvement on yesterday, so it's looking good so far.

Just got stress message, but overall today works much better than yesterday...

Dzonny

Couldn't load pages today because of error messages, just for the record...

Illori

also the wiki is being very slow loading pages.

Burke ♞ Knight

Slow loading, Server resource errors and somehow, it seems the SMF favicon vanished.

Irisado

I am also finding that the site seems much slower today than yesterday on the whole.

Me, too. But, oddly enough, it's totally OK, using Opera Tor. It's, actually, quite fast, too.

Go figure...

LiroyvH

It seems to be having its ups and downs. I'll go dig a bit deeper, there doesn't really seem to be a clear explanation for this behavior.
High loads seem to come and go as fast as they're appearing...

Just reporting some lags, then a little later it's very fast, then slow again. Been going on for quite a while.

It's definitely been better since this last change, though.

Yikes that is slow.

Are you still experiencing that?

The past week has been fine on my end.

Generally faster lately, but now and then seeing the "The server is currently under high stress...", especially happening with any search (also when logging in). Retrying some moments later and it works.
My internet is otherwise very fast, only lag I experience is on this site.
