Not getting SMF notifications from this site.

Sorry if this has been already mentioned or in the wrong section.  I have searched but cant seem to find anything relevant.


Is anyone else having problems with notifications from this forum.   Its worked fine for years, but sometime lately Ive stopped getting notifications for threads that Ive subscribed to and PM notifications.   I've checked my mail settings in profile and these appear to be fine (see attached)

My address is correct and mail from simplemachines is whitelisted.  Its definitely not being blocked or going into my spam folder - Ive checked that too.
I am not having problems with any other site notifications.

So I just assumed that it was broken and accepted it as that for the past few months.   However something strange happened yesterday and I suddenly got a bunch of about half a dozen separate notifications together completely out of the blue..   so where have these been hiding and why the delay?


Is it normal that 66.71.247.133 would hold on to mail for so long?
Still no idea where PM & thread notifications vanished to though for the past few months.

There was a problem with the system which meant that mail from this site was failing to send.  This has been rectified, so notifications are now being delivered in clusters, and are somewhat backdated, hence the sudden surge.

Try checking your junk mail folder, as that's where a number of my notifications ended up going.

Actually, email is not being sent from that IP at this time.
But notifications should be working fine, they're functioning OK in general so far.

I'm not getting update notifications either, even though I've set "Notify" on the thread where new update notifications are posted. What's the "from" address? I don't think my junk filter is catching the mails, but it might be nabbed on the server itself.

Thing is, I don't always remember to check the Admin page every day, and I like to install updates from you wonderful people ASAP.

Hmm... What would be really handy is if my own forum would auto-check once per day (like on the Admin home page) and send me an e-mail. Less e-mail for ya'll to send! Well, crap... another thing to add to my 7-mile-long to-do list.

there was an issue with the thread, and it was actually moved from another board so no notice went out to users subscribed to the news board. we are trying to make sure this does not happen in the future.

Ah, I see. Well, I did get the notification for this thread (makes sense), and I now have some whitelisting in place on my server - just in case.

Had this issue starting earlier this year as well.  I thought it was resolved, but there were some replies this month to another thread that I didn't get emails for.  I'm getting announcements about SMF updates though.  Any ideas?

You're actually set to receive notifications about those items? Check Profile > Notifications to check that you're subscribed for those threads.

Yes.  Ironically I got the reply for this thread.  Maybe it's resolved.  I'll follow up if I am missing notifications again.  Thanks
