How to remove linktree in the bottom?
For example:
Simple Machines Community Forum » SMF Support » SMF 2.0.x » Support Remove bottom "Show Current Position"

The linktree is shown at the bottom and top of every thread page....

Simple Machines Community Forum » SMF Support »  SMF 2.0.x Support »  Topic: Remove bottom "Show Current Position"

but nothing shows the way that you indicated...
it shows forum, category, board, thread

Admin > Configuration > Current theme.

Uncheck the box next to

"Show current position in forum as link instead of text: "

This changes the Linktree trail to just text rather than hotlinks.

If you want to remove the Linktree trail completely then you'll need a mod but I can't find one.

I'm guessing you want to just remove the last item in the linktree - the topic title?

You'll need to edit code of the template, are you confident in editing php files?

Sorry, I may misunderstand you, what I mean is linktree in the bottom  :-[

I am trying to remove the linktree at the bottom but keep the linktree on the top

Can I remove some php code to remove it?

That depends where you want to remove it from. Unlike the top linktree, the bottom one is not shown everywhere.

I want to remove it from index.php?board=XXX

Is it not useful to have it there rather than being at the bottom of a list of topics and saving members from having to scroll back up?

Failing that, just those pages? Not topic pages as well?

GleamPlay.com

actually, I will show you what I am trying to do :)
See this: http://gleam.tk/index.php?board=7.0

I am trying to make a Board News under Child Boards, and the bottom linktree may make it ugly, so I am trying to disable the bottom linktree

And for Topic Pages, I want to disable it too :)
so it makes the forum more uniform, bottom linktree disable in entire forum

Well, that would be a case of editing your theme's MessageIndex.template.php and Display.template.php for index.php?board=xxx and index.php?topic=xxx respectively, to remove the theme_linktree() calls.

I'd be more specific but you've already modified at least one of these files fairly heavily already since in the message index, the bottom linktree would be *under* all the topics.

GleamPlay.com

nooo!

actually, I didn't modify anything.

What I did is just use Simple Portal to add a BoardNews Block on footer of sub-boards

I don't use Simple Portal, I wouldn't know how it works or how you configured it :P (I last used SP... briefly... in 2009? Certainly no later than 2010. I roll my own portals if I need them.)

So if I want to remove bottom linktree,
Do I edit my theme's MessageIndex.template.php and Display.template.php ?
What do I edit in it?

Arantor

You remove the call to theme_linktree(); from them.
