All images turning into links

I'm having a problem where every image posted on the forum, including signatures and vp/icons, are showing as links. They're not linking to anything but if you hover your mouse over the image, it looks like a valid link. Which it isn't. It started today...as far as I know. Definitely within the last couple days since there was no issue with this last week.

Any idea what the fix for this is? I didn't see anything anywhere with the same problem (or I missed it in which case my apologies).

I just picked the first thread in the first board I saw, http://www.imaginechat.com/forum/index.php?topic=11961.0 as it happened - and that appears to be working just fine?

When you hover your mouse over the posters sig, do you not get the link cursor? Like a hand?  That shouldn't be happening since there's no link there.

Actually, there is a link there, the software is doing exactly what it has been told to do. Images over a certain size are being limited in size and clicking on them should restore the proper size of them...

But it's not resizing it. Just showing up as a link. They stay the same size. They're not actually over the size limit. Hence my confusion.

For posts it's 900px. I can't seem to find the sig one. But if you look here http://www.imaginechat.com/forum/index.php?topic=11968.0 [nofollow] that image that was posted is only 403 by 403 and yet still has the link.

Sorry. 900w and the height was disabled since we only really were concerned with the width of the image.

Yeah, SMF doesn't like it when you put in a width without a height. Give it both and things should start to make sense.

I just set a height but it's still doing it. Like I said, this just started today...or at the most, this past weekend. The settings haven't changed in months.  It's completely baffling.

No. I meant I left the width at the 900px that it was set to already and added a height. In this case 1500px.

Yeah. It's crazy but it's not just that image or just that thread. It's doing it to ALL the images on the forum suddenly on every thread. Even if I start a new thread with no coding other than just the image ie

[img][/img], it will turn that image and even all the sigs and icons into a link that goes nowhere.

Looked at a few more pics, and the problem seems to be this -

Just a guess, but something is marking all the images as resized, and the pointer is to toggle them to normal size, but since they're not resized, it does nothing.  You must have changed something to trigger this problem.  Have you tried uninstalling the 2.0.7 patch?

That is so weird since I haven't added any mods or changed any settings in a few weeks. =/ No. I did the patch today after I noticed the problem so the problem was actually happening before the 2.07 upgrade.

I just uninstalled the 2.07 update and it's still doing it. Any other suggestions?

Change your Max width and Max height settings to 0 in Features and Options -> Layout and see what happens.

Tried that. Cleared cache/cookies, tested it, same problem. Tried a fresh browser. Still the same.

I see it in three different browsers, and also in default Curve, so it's not a theme problem.  Is it possible it's been like that for a while, and you just didn't notice it until today?

Well, I want to say anything's possible but I'm pretty sure that the images I posted before did not do that. I post a lot of images so I likely would have noticed at one point. That's what's making me complete confused about what's causing it. lol

Looks like a bug.  Was able to replicate it in 2.0.6 here.  Must have been there all along, but no one ever noticed.  Posted a bug report.

Have noticed it on my forum sometime ago, but just thought that was the way it was meant to be...

My max width and height are set to 800 x 800.
Most all the photos are 640 x 480 or smaller yet when I mouse over I get the pointer like the image is a link.

*shrug* Amongst the other hundreds of things that need to be changed in both 2.0 and 2.1, this is a minor one. But it's no longer my problem as I've asked to step down from the team, I have no desire to butt heads with people about stuff. I just got overwhelmed with the number of things that have been problems for years and no-one seemed bothered with fixing before I came back, and this is firmly on that list.

Yikes. Yeah sorry to hear that. 

I just brought the issue here since it was out of blue and I couldn't figure out how to fix it or found anything about it for the life of me.
