Hello,

Since the new SMF, the index.template.php file of my theme changed.
I would like to remove the help button from my menu and add custom buttons.
I searched google and the forums but i can't seem to find a good tutorial. Can anybody help me with removing/adding new buttons to the menus in the php file. (so i can choose which place the button has in the menu?

Backup the file, in case of cock-ups.

In SMF2, the menu buttons are not set up in index.template.php

Now the logo is place underneath my menu, But i would like to place the menu underneath the logo and center the menu. How do i do that?

That is more theme-dependent and you need to check with the author ;)

Well, if one decides to replace that button in the future and if one forgets what was done to remove it. There will be a bit off head scratching involved to re-add it. Also, by leaving the code intact, there's less chance of an error if it needs to be re-added.

Also, if "show" is a bit more complex, I would recommend that the original line be commented out and a new line be added under it just so there's a place marker in case one wants to revert to how it was originally.

I'm trying to add buttons that link to a custom action in my subs.php, but when i upload it to my ftp, it doesnt show up on the page :|

My action is ?action=donate

Is $txt['donate'] defined in index.english.php?

I tested here and the menu button immediately shows up.

Also, you might need to empty your forum cache since the menu buttons are also cached
