I did try that one already, and it didn't seem to work. I also tried installing a new theme or reverting to the original default theme and I still have the samme problem with the menus on all themes.

that looks like you are either missing your language files or you are using a 1.1.* theme on 2.0. that is not the default theme for 2.0.

I had faced similar problems
The best option is to use the SMF Large Upgrade Package

It seems that both times when I restored my files through the ftp it managed to mess up the themes directory, so it was in fact some language and other files missing from the themes directory.

I have reuploaded a clean large upgrade package and everything seems to be working fine except from broken avatars.
