Which file do I need to edit to add url code to each board category?
I want when a user click the lick it shows only categories from that board.
Is there any mod for this?

File? You can edit categories in the forum itself.

Anyway, if you do not want to be online, use the database.

"smf_categories"

You will see an option to edit the category you want, and then you can add the URL to the name.

I have a category with URL and nothing bad happened because of it, I think.

Why? I say it here : http://shopinja.com/forum/index.php?action=forum

The reason why I want to do this  is that I want to use the link to show only boards in that category.
I want to use menu buttuns to link to each catergory which in turn show boards in that category.

eg.
Category 1
- board1
- board2

Category 2
- board a
- board b

linking directly to a board or category is just fine....

including html or urls in your board or category name will cause issues.
I read your original request  to be "I want to add HTML into the category name"

If instead you plan to link directly to a board, then go right ahead.
However, SMF does not have the capability to display ONLY the boards in a single category on one screen...   although there used to be one or two mods that did that

which file do you edit for WHAT?

SMF already generates a URL for a single board view...   and it does not currently support a category only view.

If you were to try and build a category only view you would have to build a WHOLE NEW TEMPLATE

Okay let I forget about category only view.

I want to use the menus on this page http://www.champsjamaica.com/champs/ to link to each 'board category'.
I want to have the same effect as this site http://shopinja.com/forum/index.php?action=forum when the category is clicked.

Take a look.

1- UGH!  You are using some sort of pretty urls mod, aren't you?   ICK.

2- It looks to me as if you have already figured it out...  the menus on that primary page link directly to the board view.

1 Yes I am using pretty url
2 No I have not figured it out.
My url is http://www.champsjamaica.com/forum

Kindred

pretty urls...  ick.

anyway...

you say that you have not figured it out -- but the buttons on that site already link to specific boards  -- that's what you asked for and that's what it already does.

BTW: I notice something that is going to cause you massive issues.
http://www.champsjamaica.com/forum links to your forum
http://www.champsjamaica.com redirects to http://forum.champsjamaica.com/ which also links to your forum....   that is going to be problematic ---  you essentially have two different domains connecting to your forum...  The system expects ONE URL/domain

I will soon change the redirect.

I want to have a url link for each of these categories below. (similiar to the categories with url link here. I want that same behaviour when the links are clicked)

General Category

Classifieds

Track and Field Events

Sprints and Hurdles

Relay

Long Distance

Field Events

Kindred

I already told you - several times now - that SMF can not link to categories.

You can link to boards, you can link to threads and you can link to posts, that's it.

There used to be a mod to display categories as a separate page... but I don't think it's ever been updated to 2.0
