Hey, why is my SMF forum redirecting to another website?

My website is: http://pwnxile.cm/index.php

Thanks!

mashby

Hmm. This:
http://pwnxile.cm/index.php
Goes here (doesn't redirect):
http://pwnxile.cm/index.php

When some of my users go to http://pwnxile.cm, they get redirected to http//ownxile.cm.

I went on my friend's teamviewer and i went to http://pwnxile.cm and it redirected me to http://ownxile.cm..

So i clicked on "view source code" and i found this:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://ownxile.com/"/>

How do i remove it? Thanks

Deaks

look in the index.template.php of the theme

BTW I dont get redirected

I would ask your friend what he might have installed on his computer/browser. Are you experiencing that? So far, two other random people aren't.

try index.php in the root folder of your smf install.

Autocorrect? Somehow I doubt it. I'm honestly thinking this is truly an isolated incident. Here's the interesting part:

Considering the one starting with o doesn't even exist, did the source code you provided come from the one starting with the p? If it did, I would think we'd all be ending up on the one starting with o.

Some browsers have "Automatically fix mistyped words" functionality. "pwn" is often corrected with own.

No redirect here either. I am on Maxthon browser :)

After Nanosector's message it would be useful to know which browser redirected people are using and then Google how to disable that auto-correct for good.

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.

I don't think that is the reason why it redirects.

Recently I fired one of my developers. He back stabbed me.

Today I woke up to people saying the site redirects to http://ownxile.com...

The developer had access to my dedicated server and to the forum files.

mashby

OK, have a look in .htaccess? Have you made sure to remove any access points for your fired developer?

also change all your site passwords so he wont have access

Nothing in .htaccess.. i have also changed all the passwords.

the funny part is, whenever he goes to http://pwnxile.cm on FIREFOX, he gets redirected to http://ownxile.com

BUT, when he goes to http://pwnxile.cm on INTERNET EXPLORER, he doesn't get redirected....

If it were a problem in the files it would happen for everyone.

What browser are your members using?

I'm on Firefox as well, don't get redirected.

Solved the problem. I replaced the wwwroot folder with one of my smf backup folders. but my members also had to clear their history to access the site..

xJamie

The problem is not solved.......

Whhen he went to http://pwnxile.cm after clearing his history he could access the site. When he refreshed the site, he got redirected to http://ownxile.com..

I am using CloudFlare and IIS for hosting my forum.
