However, and in relation to this mod only working with PM attachments for SMF 2.1, I'll look into doing what you've asked but I think for SMF 2.1 I'd prefer to just add the functionality to the PM Attachments mod. That said, and as neither of the current mod authors seem to have been active here since mid 2019, I'll have to find out about being added as an author to that mod.

NOTES FOR SMF 2.0

In order to fully support the Automatic Attachment Rotation (and Resize) mod you must install this mod first!!
Also, if you subsequently need to uninstall this mod you must uninstall the Automatic Attachment Rotation (and Resize) mod beforehand.

In order to support inline attachments in personal messages (PMs) you must install the PM Attachments mod **version 2.6 or later** before you install this mod!!
Also, if you subsequently need to uninstall the PM Attachments mod you must uninstall this mod beforehand.

The SMF default WYSIWYG editor will be disabled when this mod is installed because if it is enabled the '(Insert Attachment)' link will not work.

One of my guys has installed Post and PM Inline Attachments 7.11 on 2.1.4 forum, doesn't add anything to PM editor.  He was running v6.3 with PM Attachments 2.2 in 2.0.19.  Also has Automatic Attachment Rotation (and Resize) 6.25 installed in 2.1.4.  The current version of PM Attachments on mod site is 2.12 for 2.1 beta 3, don't know where he got v2.2 and there is no v2.6.

Correct - it would only add something if there was a compatible version of the 'PM Attachments' mod for SMF 2.1.4 installed (but one doesn't exist because the mod functionality hasn't been updated since March 2018).

... don't know where he got v2.2 and there is no v2.6.

I know it's a bit confusing but the mod version numbering for incremental releases prior to 2.10 didn't include a leading '0' (ie, it went from 2.1 to 2.9 and then changed to 2.10).

BTW: Version 2.2 was released in March 2017 and version 2.6 was released in December 2017.

This mod can be used with SMF 2.1 but, and as per the release notes, it's only functionality it to provide backward display and print page compatibility for ILA BBCodes in existing posts of forums that used this mod prior to being upgraded from SMF 2.0.

Inserting attachments inline in posts is a standard feature of SMF 2.1 but there is no equivalent feature for PMs in SMF 2.1.

AFAIK, and based on the information in the support topic from April 2022 onwards, the mod package attached to this message should work with SMF 2.1.4 but you'll need read the rest of the support topic to determine if you need to make any additional manual file edits.
