What?????

What does that have to do with 2.1?

And you will need to explain more clearly what you mean, because your two questions made no sense at all.

You have Kindred confused, because you posted in the v2.1 board and you appear to be using v2.0.8. I've moved the topic to the 2.0.x support board.

Now... Which shoutbox are you trying to install?

Does this help you?

http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_can_I_install_a_mod_that_doesn't_work_in_my_SMF_version

Kindred

you also have me confused because your title says "upgrade" but your post has nothing to do with upgrading.

finally...    questions regarding a specific mod should be asked in the support thread dedicated to that specific mod.

and your names question made no sense at all.  Those are the membergroup names from this site. why would you want to display those on your site?

He means how can he display the membergroup names on his site.

To do that, go to admin>configuration>current theme>Scroll down to "Show group key on board index:" and check it. :p

Do you really need that mod?

If yes, then fix the errors manually. :p

Kindred

OMG...    please remove or change that signature?

While I appreciate the sentiments expressed, that animated, flashing red bar is the most annoying thing ever....

as for your issues with the mod...

1- for questions with a mod, please ask in the support topic dedicated to supporting that specific mod.
2- again - read the wiki... http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Error_in_mod_installation

Which mod are you trying to install? This one?

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1069

Or this one?

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2469

If it's the first one, it ain't gonna happen. Ever.

If it's the second, look for "Advanced", during the install and emulate version 2.0.2.

Before you install ANY mod, read my sig. (Click it, for the "How").

Mstcool

How come the first one works and the second doesn't?

I mean it says 2.0.2 and most 2.0.2 mods work on 2.0.8.

So is that one of the few that doesn't? :p

Kindred

the first one is for 1.1.4.......

as for the signature....    that scrolling red "light", rotating text is truly horrific.

Exactly, so how it is compatible with 2.0.8 and the second one isn't?

Nevermind, I thought K@ meant that the first one won't have any errors. My bad. :P
